New Orleans

We arrived in New Orleans Saturday evening. We got to our hotel, changed and hit the town.

The trip started off great. We went to Acme House for dinner and had the 4 ladies who shared our table, pay for our meal and run. We had talked to them all through dinner and then they were super sweet, paid for our dinner and took off. How cool is that. Talk about paying it forward. Then after dinner we went to a bar called the Bourbon Cowboy where we danced and met up with Phillip's cousin Dorothy and her friend. We didn't know they were going to be there till the day before.

The next morning we went to look for another hotel. (Yes, me and Alan are dressed the same without knowing)

We were told one thing and our room showed another. We were never once offered anything to make up for the shoe box that they put us in. That was not the room we reserved. When we finally realized that they were not going to offer anything to make up for the lies that they knew they told us, we went back to the Burboun Orleans where we stayed last time and got the same rate and awesome rooms. We thought we might venture out to a new hotel, but we will always go back to the Burbon Orleans hotel.

Sunday night we walked around and went to Snug Harbor for dinner. It was ok. It wasn't to great, but wasn't the worst.....well maybe the worst of all our meals.

Of course we had to go to Cafe de Monde. They have the beneigts. Soooo good.

Oh Phil... he is such a card. He is just being silly. And this was in the morning....before drinks.
Monday we went to the Garden District to see all the pretty houses and different places to look around in. The most time wasted thing we did was watch a guy with a face painted like a dog, set up his "street performance" thing and then be the head of a dog in a dog carrier. Seriously, wasted 20 minutes of my life on that. We stopped b/c we wanted to see what he was going to do. There are all sort of street bands, performers and weird-os.

Then that night we went to the French Market for dinner. That was great food and good football....up until....well you know.... till we bombed for the season.

Pictures of me and Phillip!

Tabasco is make in Louisiana and we found the largest container.

Me and Stacey about to hit the town... (the boys went too, I just didn't get their picture)

That night we ended up at Lefeite, where we met a man who went to school with Whitten and was PAul McCartney's nephew....so he says. People will make up anything in New Orleans. Of course he wasn't, but that got me and Stacey's attention. He was there for a convention and took all of his employees to NO. How cool is that??? Anyway, that night was fun.

This was a neat shot of the shadow of a statue on the building.

I wanted to go to The Creole Creamery. It's a place I saw on one of the cooking channels. They make the most odd flavors. The one I saw and wanted to see if they had to try was Avacado ice cream. It sounds gross, but why not just try it.

So Phil had the Mexican hot chocolate made with cinnamon and chayenne pepper. None of got to try the Gin Martini, but you can see what they made it out of.

Stacey knows how much of a celebrity lover I am so she took me to Sandra Bullock's house. To bad she was in Austin.

Stacey was looking for something on her phone map and found my two streets. Look closely.......

The last night we were there was our nice dinner. We went to The Commander's Palace and had a nice time. We got a free round of shots because some of the steaks were over cooked. However, the steak was still great. And my creme brulee had a Saints sign on it.

So we were up on a balcony and saw a policeman on a horse. He sat there for a while and then wanted to see the score of the game in the car behind him....so he went in.

One proud wife....

I am so proud of Phillip. He loves the new job and training has been fun for him. Don't get me wrong, that boy has been so tired from working hard. He has done so great. I just wanted to share some pictures that he sent me.

He is graduating today! I can't wait to go celebrate.....in New Orleans. We leave in the morning and SO excited.

Surgery

Here are a few pictures from Ryan's surgery day. She did REALLY well considering she didn't eat for over 12 hours. She was kind of cranky, but come on...she isn't even two yet.

She played with all of the stuff around the room. She kept her gown on for a little bit and then decided to take it off.

The surgery went fairly quick (the whole day did for me...how weird). When I went back after the surgery, she was waking up and not happy. So I got into the bed with her and tried to calm her down. She did a little, but we figured she was in pain so the nurse gave her some pain meds. Well, that knocked her out completely. The resp therapist was in there for quite some time listening to her breathe. They weren't to happy with the oxygen levels while she was sleeping, so we tried to make her mad and get her to cough. She woke up a bit, but again was out. So a few hours had passed, (I am guessing b/c when it was 2:15 I thought it was 11) and then we tried cleaning her nose out with saline and suction air. Well that did it.

She woke up after that and coughed a little and was doing better. So we moved to one of the pre-op areas so my mom, dad and step mom could come in and visit.

After that she got a low grade fever, so they wanted to watch her. After all of this, she passed out again. At this point we were ready to go b/c we got the go ahead that everything was ok. Once she woke up and had jello, she coughed and moved some of that stuff in her throat around.

We left around 4 in the after (after the surgery being around 10) and went home.

Ryan slept a good 2 hours and was back in bed by 8pm. She did great.

However, Monday came along and we thought that she has been more brabby than normal even after a surgery. What do ya know it??? An ear infection. But that didn't surprise us b/c it was so bad when they went in.

PS~ Dr Chamblee is the BEST ENT. She is the nicest, sweetest, best Dr ever. I recommend her if anyone has to go to an ENT.

All in all, Ryan is doing great. She is on meds and we hope it clears soon.

~Cutest little back side ever!

~On the silly juice. (video to come if I can get it to send to my email.)
She just laughed and laughed. What a site.

Out at the farm

Saturday, we went to the farm to play with the cows. Richard had some work for Phillip to do and mom had some craft fairing for us girls to do. Unfortunately you can't fair like you used to. The little ones get bored faster and the gifts get heavier :). (I had to carry the big heavy baskets.... just kiddin mom. I was glad to do it)

So we got there pretty early to see the cows and oh.... run into things (see Coop's eye) before we all had to get to work. So Phillip took Ryan closer to see the cows. Then they decided to get a bit closer.

"Oh look at the cute little cow." "C'mon cow"

Off to see the cows.......

And coming back from seeing the cows.........

Everyone's gotta have a turn on the mule. We love riding this thing.

Wait a minute..... "she's" behind the wheel??? Look out!!

The babies aren't the only ones that get a nap around here.

(He worked really hard and deserved it.)

A little afternoon stroll and play time after the naps.

Oh hey....let's all ride on the back of Richard's feeding truck to go feed them cows. This is going to be fun....

Sun's going down...they are lining up!

They are way too close. Oh no, here comes George....the BULLy.

Thank goodness Richard hit the "feed" button to let the feed out. I thought they would never go away.

There's Fancy....the A**, I mean mule.

Fake smile~ That was close. I survived.

Time for the parents and grandparents to relax.....stick em in the good ol' pack n play.

Oh wait...they are cousins. Let the "MINE" and fussing begin. It didn't last long, but was cute.
