Ryan and I went to the store the other day to get a kite. We are going to try it out tomorrow if it doesn’t rain. She got a princess one, of course.
We went to US Toy and found one. It was really cheap. Then after we got what we needed, Ryan played in the store at some tables with villages and trains on them for 20-30 minutes. She was so content in playing and she was so good. I set the timer for about 10 minutes when I was almost ready to go and told her that when the timer went off, we had to go. Do you know that she said ok and left with no fussing? That timer is a life saver. It makes the timer be the bad guy and not you.
We also tried to hula hoop outside on the way out. They had some sitting out by the door and she wanted me to try and then for her to try it. All she does is spin the hula hoop and wiggle. It is so cute.
The final picture is from this morning. She had an accident over night, but still woke up with a smile on her face. She didn’t even know I don’t think. I woke her up and told her that she had an accident and she almost started crying. Phillip and I don’t say “It’s ok” to things like that b/c we don’t want her to think it’s ok so we told her “it happens” and not to cry. We gave her a bath and all was good.

Quote of the day
I am taking this from my cousin Abby. She posts Leah's quotes of the day. This is more like conversation of the day.
Setting the scene:
We had put Ryan to bed and about half an hour later she calls out....just as I had grabbed a few cherrios and popped them in my mouth.
As I swallow the cherrios I hear a sweet little voice coming from Ryan's room:
Ryan: "Mommy, I want to sleep in your room!"
Mommy as I get close to her head: "Ryan, you can't sleep with me and daddy unless you are sick."
Ryan: "I want to come and (sniff sniff) ........I smell sums sing. What is in your mouth?"
Mommy: "I don't have anything in my mouth!"
Ryan: "Open your mouth. You eat it?"
Mommy: "No Ryan, what are you talking about?" (trying not to laugh or smile)
Ryan: (sniff sniff) "I smell...... a cracker."
Well there you have it. I can't get away with anything in that house.
On a side note, she is so much fun to wake up in the mornings. I opened her door this morning and the first thing I hear is her laughing. I can't really see her face b/c she sleeps in the fetal position. So all I can hear is that little laugh coming from her covers. She laughs with Phillip up until the moment she goes to bed. No wonder she wakes up in a good mood. She is fun.

Cookout and Dinner
Ryan and I went to the park this weekend. She is so big. She loved playing and she wore her sunglasses pretty much the whole time. She was so sweet to let me take some "posed" pictures.
Saturday we had a cookout at momma's for me and Bridget's birthday. We cooked out, ate, played washers, talked and had a really good time.
This is the only way I can get everyone together for a picture. :)
Learning how to play Washers.
Kids table
Bronwyn, with her new hair cut, graduated to the adult table.
Phillip and Richard cooking. All the guys helped with the cooking. It was awesome. Richard made a wok out of a tractor disk. It makes awesome fajitas.
Heath and Josh playing Washers.
Ryan watching how to play Washers.
Me and H-E. Hay Hay says we match the slide.
Ollie on the slide.
I took a picture with the kids towards the sun so that we could really see them and this is what I got....
Coop is the only one who wore sunglasses.
Sunday night we went to dinner for our 2nd annual chinese dinner with Uncle Silly and Aunt Sassy. Uncle Johnny's birthday is the 22nd and mine is the 20th.
Ryan says, "Aunt Sassy calls her Aunt Sassy and me little Aunt Sassy." :)

EEG is normal
The picture is from the EEG test on Tuesday. She did so good. I can't believe how well she did. We told her every day for the 3-4 days or so coming up to the appt about what was going to happen. I wanted her to be prepared and not scared of anything.
We told her that they were going to put stickers on her head and then have different colored wires coming out of each sticker (sensor).
The day of the test, once those were applied the tech wrapped her head in gauze so that they would not move while she slept. Before she took her nap, Phillip laid in the bed with her. The tech left the room and put a strobe light near her face. This was to test if any lights triggered anything. He did multiple sets of strobe lights at different speeds about 12 times. It didn't seem to bother her that much. It was Phil that was getting annoyed. :)
After that (about 2-3 minutes worth) she was to blow a pinwheel to make it spin. This was to see if hyperventilating triggered anything.
Once those two short tests were done (the tech was looking at the scan from another room) she was to try and nap. I say try b/c I wasn't sure if she was going to sleep with all the stuff on her head and plus I think she was a little scared. Well, what does momma know? Not 2 minutes later, she and Phillip were fast asleep.
Phillip only slept a few minutes. He then got up (she didn't move a muscle) and made some coffee in the family lounge. The sleep portion was suppose to take about an hour. That was the fastest 50 minutes- hour EVER.
After it was all done, we were to wake her up. Not an easy task as she was sleeping pretty hard.
Whew...... we were done. We got all the sensors out of her hair as she was crying a bit from being so tired. BUT...as we walked out she said in a sad tone, "Do I still get to go play?" There was a little play area on the first floor that we told her she could play on after the test.
We knew she was waking up a bit and feeling better b/c as Phillip lay backwards over one of the play things to stretch his back she says, "Daddy, stop being so weird."
That's my girl...............
We got the results back from Ryan's EEG. Nothing showed up and everything looked normal. We are so excited. However, Dr Ashworth wants us to see a Neurologist just to see if there is anything that we could possibly do to help prevent the seizures. If anyone, a Neurologist would know. So we are going to make the appt and see what he/she says.
So needless to say, we are so happy that nothing is wrong neurolically. However, the seizures are still possible from fevers until she grows out them. We will hopefully get a few more answers as if they are harmful when she has them and if there is anything more that we can do to help prevent them.
~My birthday dinner at Chuck E Cheese. We told Ryan that since she was such a big girl and did great during the test, we would go to Chuck E Cheese.

Hay Hay called me Wed to see if I would like to go to a MAVS game. Well.....duh!!
She gets tickets from work and she was so nice to ask me if I wanted to go. We went 4 years ago when I was pregnant. We had a blast both times. However this time, Ryan wanted to be in the picture. So this is on our way out the door. They lost against the Lakers, but we had a great time.

Seizure #3
What a week…
Ryan had another febrile seizure on Wed the 14th. This is her 3rd one. She had one June of 2010, March of 2011 and now March 2012. This one happened at school. All of the staff at Willow Bend Learning Center did a great job. They called 911 at 10am, as I had directed after the last one in 2011, then called me and I was on my way. She was given a valum in the ambulance, which is a seizure prevention medicine. By the time I got to the hospital (they took her to Medical Center of Plano) Phillip was already there. Ms Roonu, the owner at the daycare, had followed the ambulance so that there was a familiar face when she got to the hospital.
As I arrived, Phillip was with her and it looked like she was still shivering. The daycare stated that she was in circle time and had started to shiver. At this point, she had her seizure. She was given Motrin at the hospital as well which slowly helped her fever come down.
As usual, they did a strep and flu test which came back negative. Her white blood count was good as well, which meant that she must have had a virus and they couldn’t give antibiotics.
We left the hospital at 1pm and went home. Phillip went back to work and I stayed with her at home. Ryan fell asleep as soon as we got home.
Phillip stayed with her on Thursday and took her to the Dr for a follow up. At that time, they took another swap and looked in her ears. The tests came back negative again and her ears were clear. Phillip mentioned to Dr Ashworth that we noticed that her lips were blue the very first seizure. I think he was just going over all of the situations to make sure that these were all caused by fevers. The Dr seemed a little concerned with the blue lips, so she ordered an EEG. This test will rule out all other reasons for seizures. It is scheduled for Tuesday March 20th. We will take her at nap time because they want her tired and possibly to sleep. This test is measured by putting stickers on her head that measure some kind of waves in her brain. We have gone over the procedure with Ryan and tried to explain it to her. We have said that they will put stickers on her head and hair and have pretty colored wire and string coming from the stickers. I have shown her some of the less scary pictures. Not that they are scary, but anyone would look weird with all those stickers and to a 3 year old it could scare her. But she seems to be ok with it…..we will see come tomorrow though!
This past weekend we spent time with her and then she spent the night with Pretty Granma and PawPaw Saturday night. She had a good time and did just fine. I was a basket case, but survived. I didn’t get to sleep till 2-3am, but slept in and tried to relax.
Sunday evening we went to Grammy’s surprise birthday party. (It was a combo party for her and Fritz) There were 50-60 people there and didn’t a picture with Grammy. We got one picture of Ryan in her new purple dress and that is about it.
At Grammy's surprise party.
Tea Time with daddy! Pretty Granma got Ryan this little set over the weekend. She wanted to pour her daddy his coffee.

3 years old and 3 months
I keep thinking that every age for Ryan is my favorite. She is always learning something new or showing us funny little things. She is a fun little girl. She hasn’t been consumed with the role reversal as much anymore (she will call me baby and I call her momma). She will do it every once and a while, but doesn’t do it very much. She is really starting to recognize boys and girls and has said in a deep voice, “Boys like blue” and in a sweet girly voice, “Girls like pink and purple.” She likes to say that boys like chocolate or white milk and girls like strawberry. Everything is distinguished by colors.
We went to get donuts last Saturday and she had to have a pink one. It doesn’t matter what flavor it is as long as it is pink.
She loves to be with her cousins and friends. She asks when her friends are going to come over and jump with her almost every day. And then when Arianna came over, she was queen of the trampoline and was a little toot. She would say that she needed to jump and for Ari to either stay in or get out. That makes sense right? But when they are both in there and having a good time, there is no need for Ryan to lay down the law.
Ryan loves to play her music. We are hoping she has an ear for it. She loves to play her flute or guitar or rock out to Fresh Beat band.
We really try to teach her a lot of things. We know that she learns in school, but we are really trying to encourage reading and learning new things.
She can spell her first and last name, she can spell the numbers seven and eight, she knows her colors forward and backward in Spanish, she can count to 15 in Spanish, she knows her mommy and daddy’s names, she knows the days of the week, she knows that she lives in Playdoh (Plano) and that Plano is in Texas. We are amazed every day at how much she knows.

Aunt Barbara bought Ryan two cute cute cute sweatshirts. She got to wear one today b/c it was so cold. Thanks Aunt Barbara. We love you.
Ryan loves her daddy. She and Phillip have the most awesome relationship. I love these two.

Busy Bee
Grandpa is staying in Mayfield Gardens temporarily while his house is being worked on. I went with mom on Wed the 29th to help get him settled in. He wasn't real sure about it at first and still is not sure how long he is staying, but we all have told him that he can go back home after everything is done. They are re-doing the foundation and having a new fire place put in. It is not a good place for him to be right now. However, Mayfield Gardens is a very nice place. The people there are so nice.
Ryan and I went to visit him on Saturday. They talked and then we all went on a walk. He is 96 years old and doing good. I just hope he is happy.
Thank you cousin Leah for this cute outfit. Ryan is her "Daddy's Busy Bee."
Ryan found the tutu that Ari got her for her birthday. She wore it all weekend long.
Cynthia and I went shopping on Friday and found the blue dress below. I tried it on her first thing in the morning so this is what I got :)!! I didn't keep the dress b/c it was a little tight in the mid section but wanted to post the picture b/c it is so funny.
Ryan had felt bad over part of the weekend, however I knew hse was better from this picture. She loves playing with her daddy.
Aunt Katy had her baby shower on Sunday. I was a hostess. More pictures will be posted, but I wanted to post a picture of Ryan's new dress. She twirled in it and said she was a ballerina.
